I ordered a smoothie from uber eats and got it after work. After a long day, I met up with the driver and thanked him for his service and popped down on the curb to sip my smoothie and have an after work smoke before calling my uber.
The uber eats driver parked his car close to me, got out of the vehicle and approached me. He asked if this was an apartment building, and I told him no, it's a corporate office. I put out my smoke and confirmed an uber ride to get out of the situation.
Big fucken mistake. Of course, hes working and he answers my call. He starts off right away by asking me about my boyfriend, how I met him, how did he approach me (??). He then steers the conversation to casual sex, one night stands, etc. I try to be cordial. In fight, flight, freeze mode, I default to freeze and to appease. I try to make friends with threats. I try to ignore his increasingly creepy conversation. I tell him that I hope he can find a girlfriend that is right for him. He drives so deliberately slow as to draw out our conversation.
I try to get my friends to call me so I can avoid talking to him. I tell him "hold on sir" and I try to talk to my friends. He talks OVER THEM. I've never had someone do this and not take the hint. My friends are blowing up my phone worried about me.
I crumpled after the ride. I went inside my uncles house (thank god he doesn't know where I actually live) and I just started sobbing.
It was so uncomfortable.
Is this something he should have known better than to do or are uber drivers not told to be disgusting?
I wish I had the balls to actually say "this is fucking gross" to him but I just didnt. Could really use some guidance right now.
