I do not have the ability to get internet at my house, so I use a little hotspot from my cell phone service provider. This hotspot's speed is slowed after reaching a 25 gb data cap, slowing down so much as to barely allow me to send an email, much less load video. I have both my chromecast and google home connected to the hotspot, and I've realized I can still stream on my chromcast at fairly normal speeds, even after reaching that cap. I have to use the google home to start the videos, as nothing will load on my other devices to cast. Does anyone know why this happens? I'm certainly not complaining that I can still consume media, I was just curious as to why it works this way.
