It was definitely Material, but it was the old style, with depth and shadow and whatnot. Is that "better" than the new, flatter style? No, that's subjective, it's just different. Whatever you think of the new icon, it's MUCH more cohesive.I've basically given up on Chrome having an updated icon to match, but I'm personally a fan of the new icon. Also it's...just an icon. It's really not that deep. However...I am getting a little tired of half of my Google apps all using the same four colors on a white background. I get why they do it, but I understand the contention.Feel free to downvote me into oblivion because Android fans react to change about as well as iOS fans do.
