IE the base station 2.0 light house tracking and the valve knuckle controllers and i believe much more tech which they have yet to discloseMy speculation for the reverb G2 is that it will be the start of our true Next gen VR headsets with a very high resolution, refresh-rate and hopefully eye trackingbut please take what im saying with a pinch of salt until we have solid official info.Otherwise moving onto the next headset it is the new oculus quest. Yet to have an official nameyet leaked to us as the oculus del-marbut i guess we could call it the quest 2 or possibly even meme a little and call it the quest Sbut what we do know so far is this new quest will be the successor to the OG quest and will be small, lighter, more powerful and have new controllers with possible finger tracking just like the valve index controllersone thing i hope is fixed is the quests bad weight displacement which after playing for over and hour gets rather uncomfortable but due to the new quest being smaller and lighter i would suspect this weight issue is no longer a problemthen with the additional performance i would suspect that the new quest will be utilizing the snapdragon XR2 chip with almost double the performance of the quests 835BUT while saying this the XR2 chip is at the top of the range and is quite pricey which leads me to speculate that oculus might go ahead with the snapdragon 845 or the 855which will give the new quest the extra performance that it needs while still achieving a competitive price pointbut again take this with a pinch of salt because oculus are the only ones with the true knowledge of what is to come at Oculus connect 7 this yearstill, let me know what you think.A quick heads up, any new info will be in an (Edit) section of this postback onto topic, our next headset is the Vive cosmos elite.. now im not gonna lie this headset may be HTC's saving grace but dont count your chickens before they hatchThe vive cosmos elite drops the inside out tracking of the original cosmos which was. for a lack of better words.. terrible..BUT the vive cosmos elite goes back to a more traditional tried and tested base station tracking which im SUPER glad they did because i genuinely got worried when HTC failed at inside out trackingonto specs: it has a combined panel resolution of 2880 x 1700 with LCD panels which is among the highest resolution of any headset on the market at this timeAt $900 for the kit it comes with 2x 1.0 base stations and 2 vive wandsim not gonna lie i really wish HTC would focus some of their efforts on making index type controllerscurrently the only 2 finger tracking controllers on the market are the valve knuckles and the Etee controllers.. both of which have their own issues and shortfalls..on top of this i do feel the price of the cosmos elite kit is overpriced and dated for $900The only thing of genuine value in my opinion is the headset itself because of its high resolutionbut again at $550 for the standalone headset it still doesn't justify why it costs $50 more than the valve index at 500$AND before you go on to state that the cosmos has a higher resolutionthe valve index has such a high sub pixel count that the index is on par with the cosmos.. AND the index can do 144hz while the cosmos is STILL sitting at the baseline of 90hzNow IF the vive cosmos elite had eye tracking and cost $550 for the headset it would be a no brainer and the index would literally fall into yesterdays news.. BUT thats not the caseRather if you wanted to id say get the cosmos standalone headset but then go and get the index controllers and base stations separatelytho me personally ill be waiting for the reverb G2 to come out because i believe that its gonna blow our socks offanyways enough ranting up next is the StarVR headset.. Its specs make it undeniably the among the BEST headsets on the marketIts specs are:combined resolution of 1830 x 1464a refresh-rate of 90hza 210 degrees field of vieweye tracking including foveated renderingand uses the base station tracking methodwith these specs its really impressivebut with these great specs comes a great high price of $3200 which makes me cough up a little blood.. I promise i dont have corona.. yetcurrently this headset is available in the Asian markets but has yet to make its way to the European or US markets, i believe that this is largely due to covid 19 but we will just have to wait and see what happensnext up is an impressive headset..the pimax 8KX.. a brilliant headset.. just not from a proven company..the 8KX is up there with the StarVR headset in terms of specs! and it costs half the priceThe Specs are:It has a per eye resolution of 3840 x 2160 which is an outstanding 4k per eye with a combined 8k resolution total.. which is.. insane..it has the ability to run 75 to 120 hzand has a field of view of 200 degrees.. the only thing its lacking is eye tracking and it would easily be the bestsome of its major downsides come in the form of its weight and clunkyness.. unfortunately this headset is big.. it takes the term of strapping a toaster to your head and make it uncannyits HUGE..but this was thought of tho and compensated for in the form of a very comfy looking head strap to help distribute the bulk of the weightPimax definitely has some ways to go before they are considered a big player in the VR scene but the pimax 8kx is definitely a start in the right directionOur last item on the list is the Huawei VR glassesThis headset is only a 3dof headset but it has an impressive resolution of 1600x1600 but with a rather small FOV of 90 degrees with leaves the user with binocular vision when using the headset. tho it is a reasonably cheap headset at $380.. again its one of those things that id rather tell you to go out and buy the Oculus Quest at $400 as its a completely wireless 6dof headset with the ability to play games..as i will always state.. dont get a 3dof headset unless its given to you for free.. even then take it back, refund it and if you can..get a real headset..otherwise thanks for reading, please keep safe and i hope to catch you in the next one!( This was my script so i do apologize if it isnt perfectly structured )

Good morning, gud day aswell as all that good stuff
I made a video on this but for those of you would like text format this is for you :)
If you would like to watch the video you can find it here @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LFWpsrT7Mw&t=
Would really appreciate your support <3
Otherwise without wasting anymore time, these are the next gen headsets releasing in 2020
First up is the Reverb G2..teased to us in a video which states "no compromises"
That one line is a deadly dangerous statement which allows my imagination to go wild for what may be coming
Now no official information of its specs have been released but rumors spread far with this headset so please dont believe everything that you read on the internet
One thing we know for sure however is that its being made in a collaborative effort between Valve and HP.. which might i speculate, is a HUGE deal for us.
its no secret that valve has been working on VR tech for a good couple years and have some of the best tech out there for VR. IE the base station 2.0 light house tracking and the valve knuckle controllers and i believe much more tech which they have yet to disclose
My speculation for the reverb G2 is that it will be the start of our true Next gen VR headsets with a very high resolution, refresh-rate and hopefully eye tracking
but please take what im saying with a pinch of salt until we have solid official info.
Otherwise moving onto the next headset it is the new oculus quest. Yet to have an official name
yet leaked to us as the oculus del-mar
but i guess we could call it the quest 2 or possibly even meme a little and call it the quest S
but what we do know so far is this new quest will be the successor to the OG quest and will be small, lighter, more powerful and have new controllers with possible finger tracking just like the valve index controllers
one thing i hope is fixed is the quests bad weight displacement which after playing for over and hour gets rather uncomfortable but due to the new quest being smaller and lighter i would suspect this weight issue is no longer a problem
then with the additional performance i would suspect that the new quest will be utilizing the snapdragon XR2 chip with almost double the performance of the quests 835
BUT while saying this the XR2 chip is at the top of the range and is quite pricey which leads me to speculate that oculus might go ahead with the snapdragon 845 or the 855
which will give the new quest the extra performance that it needs while still achieving a competitive price point
but again take this with a pinch of salt because oculus are the only ones with the true knowledge of what is to come at Oculus connect 7 this year
still, let me know what you think.
A quick heads up, any new info will be in an (Edit) section of this post
back onto topic, our next headset is the Vive cosmos elite.. now im not gonna lie this headset may be HTC's saving grace but dont count your chickens before they hatch
The vive cosmos elite drops the inside out tracking of the original cosmos which was. for a lack of better words.. terrible..
BUT the vive cosmos elite goes back to a more traditional tried and tested base station tracking which im SUPER glad they did because i genuinely got worried when HTC failed at inside out tracking
onto specs: it has a combined panel resolution of 2880 x 1700 with LCD panels which is among the highest resolution of any headset on the market at this time
At $900 for the kit it comes with 2x 1.0 base stations and 2 vive wands
im not gonna lie i really wish HTC would focus some of their efforts on making index type controllers
currently the only 2 finger tracking controllers on the market are the valve knuckles and the Etee controllers.. both of which have their own issues and shortfalls..
on top of this i do feel the price of the cosmos elite kit is overpriced and dated for $900
The only thing of genuine value in my opinion is the headset itself because of its high resolution
but again at $550 for the standalone headset it still doesn't justify why it costs $50 more than the valve index at 500$
AND before you go on to state that the cosmos has a higher resolution
the valve index has such a high sub pixel count that the index is on par with the cosmos.. AND the index can do 144hz while the cosmos is STILL sitting at the baseline of 90hz
Now IF the vive cosmos elite had eye tracking and cost $550 for the headset it would be a no brainer and the index would literally fall into yesterdays news.. BUT thats not the case
Rather if you wanted to id say get the cosmos standalone headset but then go and get the index controllers and base stations separately
tho me personally ill be waiting for the reverb G2 to come out because i believe that its gonna blow our socks off
anyways enough ranting up next is the StarVR headset.. Its specs make it undeniably the among the BEST headsets on the market
Its specs are:
combined resolution of 1830 x 1464
a refresh-rate of 90hz
a 210 degrees field of view
eye tracking including foveated rendering
and uses the base station tracking method
with these specs its really impressive
but with these great specs comes a great high price of $3200 which makes me cough up a little blood.. I promise i dont have corona.. yet
currently this headset is available in the Asian markets but has yet to make its way to the European or US markets, i believe that this is largely due to covid 19 but we will just have to wait and see what happens
next up is an impressive headset..the pimax 8KX.. a brilliant headset.. just not from a proven company..
the 8KX is up there with the StarVR headset in terms of specs! and it costs half the price
The Specs are:
It has a per eye resolution of 3840 x 2160 which is an outstanding 4k per eye with a combined 8k resolution total.. which is.. insane..
it has the ability to run 75 to 120 hz
and has a field of view of 200 degrees.. the only thing its lacking is eye tracking and it would easily be the best
some of its major downsides come in the form of its weight and clunkyness.. unfortunately this headset is big.. it takes the term of strapping a toaster to your head and make it uncanny
its HUGE..
but this was thought of tho and compensated for in the form of a very comfy looking head strap to help distribute the bulk of the weight
Pimax definitely has some ways to go before they are considered a big player in the VR scene but the pimax 8kx is definitely a start in the right direction
Our last item on the list is the Huawei VR glasses
This headset is only a 3dof headset but it has an impressive resolution of 1600x1600 but with a rather small FOV of 90 degrees with leaves the user with binocular vision when using the headset. tho it is a reasonably cheap headset at $380.. again its one of those things that id rather tell you to go out and buy the Oculus Quest at $400 as its a completely wireless 6dof headset with the ability to play games..
as i will always state.. dont get a 3dof headset unless its given to you for free.. even then take it back, refund it and if you can..get a real headset..
otherwise thanks for reading, please keep safe and i hope to catch you in the next one!
