eGPU Worth it For VR?

Hey Everyone, I just got my Quest last week and completely fell in love. VR is amazing, and I want to explore more of this technology.I really want to try some more detailed games using the link but i dont think my laptops gpu is good enough for a solid experience.I have about $1000 cad in extra spending money after selling my old car and would like to put it towards enhancing my VR experience. Im thinking about buying an external GPU (GTX 1080 or maybe RTX 2070).My laptop currently is a Dell G7 with an i7 8750h, 16gb DDR4, 1tb+240gb SSD and a GTX 1060 6gb. I dont really have a need to upgrade it other for VR. It runs most games in High or Ultra at 60fps in 1080p, which is fine for me.I only have $1000 cad to spend so building a whole new rig isnt really possible, however im looking at external GPUs as my Ram and Processor is adequate (I think)So, does anybody run a similar setup to mine? Or have experience running an eGPU with VR? I just want to play Half Life and VR Racing lol
