Left cell phone in Uber. Driver has turned off the phone and will not respond to anything from myself or customer service.

I’m mostly posting this because I’m frustrated and I’ve almost accepted that my wife’s phone is gone. Im just venting. The Uber driver dropped us off at our home and then we noticed my wife’s phone was not with her. I called the driver who did not answer. Then I called my wife’s phone which was not answered. Just moments after that, I get a call from my wife’s phone. I say hello multiple times, but the caller simply hung up. I tried calling her phone back but it had been shut off. So now the driver has not not responded to anything. I left voicemails on his phone through the app, and Uber customer service reached out to him, but they informed me that he is not responding to them either. This sucks. Anyone have something similar happen to them ?
