Account Recovery

I hope this is an okay place to post this, but I'm not sure where else to go since the customer support email is not helping me.

I recently got a new laptop and signed in with my secondary email which is a live.com domain (my main email being gmail). I signed in with my live email to try to make things easier with everything being through Microsoft. However, shortly after getting everything setup on my laptop, I received a notification that my email needed to be recovered due to a new device (my laptop) signing in with my email. I start the recovery process and I'm not able to have a code texted to me because it has my old number I lost approximately 5 years ago. So I use my gmail to receive a code to fill out the recovery form. No matter what I do or the amount of info I provide in the form it tells me that I have not provided enough information to recover my account and to try again.

I have emailed customer support and have been told twice now that the only way to recover my account is to fill out the form. There has to be another way in case things like this happen. If not, I have lost access to an account that I've had for over 10 years.
